Summary: Tried other models like CISCO 7940, they usually don't work on SIP requiring tech's reprogramming, which does not always work. With 508G, fantastic - plug and play. This is third order, multiple units, in under a year. Will keep buying 508's as old 7940's and 7960's burn out.
Summary: I love this model of Cisco phone. We use the 8 lines to monitor other users to see if they are on the phone and to quick dial them. Well made and it just works. It also has a ton of options that you can edit.
Doesn't work without a plug or POE switch. (Not included)

Summary: For some reason these phones come with no way to power them. I guess they assume that every purchaser has a POE switch to power the phones but that certainly isn't the case. It's almost like buying a toaster without a plug. "Oh you wanted to actually use your toaster? No problem, give me another 10 bucks for the plug and wait another week for it to be shipped to you!
Excerpt: Have purchased 4 of these phones from B&H now. Great sound quality and easy to use. Originaly provisioned for Ring Central, and now working with Jive Communications, these are great for virtual phone systems - even on a fiber or cable internet connection. Just remember they are POE, so unless you have a Power over Ethernet switch you will need to purchase an AC adaptor.
Summary: this is a excelent voip phone, the magerial plastis brand its excelent quality, the sound and mic its excelent , clear voice, and sound throught voip, its easy to install and setup, please buy it!
No Traditional Power Supply?? It would've been helpful to know!

Summary: I have ordered similar CISCO phones from Amazon and they all came with a power plug. This one did not and it was not clearly stated in the title and/or that it gets its power from the ethernet cable/adapter. Which we don't have. I elected to order an $8 power cord... hopefully its the right one. All in all this is a pain in the butt and could've been avoided.
