Excerpt: I wanted something to record the band's music at church and be able to record it in MP3 format. I found this item trough a google search. I found out Wav was better to record in than MP3. A friend that works the sound board at church heard mine and bought two for his wife and daughter from BH Photo as well. A nephew of mine is going to buy one after listening to mine. It is better than I had hoped for. Easy to use after reading directions.
Excerpt: As a hobbyist with high standards, I was always disappointed with the audio from my DSLR; no matter the mic I used, there was always some sort of hiss in the background. After looking into software to record to my computer or iPhone, I decided to give a stand-alone recorder a chance. Boy am I glad I did!My most recent project was recording children for a Christmas video.
Excerpt: I do piano videos on YouTube and was looking for a good microphone to record the audio. After watching a couple of how-tos, I settled on this. I use it for the primary audio and a Zoom Q2HD for the room ambiance. Huge improvement over the Q2 alone.
Pros: Compact, Easy To Use, Excellent Sound, Low Distortion
Excerpt: I use this on the job to record sound bites of our poducts and compare them with others. Being able to record at 24bit/48khz resolution is important to us. This recorder fulfills that requirement.
Summary: The Tascam DR07NKII has lots and lots of sophisticated functions. I don't need any of them. What I do need, and what I got, was the ability to set this up with no learning curve (I received it 5 minutes before I had to use it) and competently record a live performance. I was comfortable with it from the moment I opened the box, though I've never used a digital recorder before.
