Excerpt: Tascam has a long history in recording but unfortunately this product is not on par. There's a line between selling something cheap and something that devalues the brand. It may be cheap but it doesn't deliver basic expectations.
Summary: This works great for recording lectures. Was able to figure out the sound charteristics of different halls and adjust it a little and all of my lecture are easy to hear with minimum background noise. Only con is that it is a battery hog.
Summary: Video review. Pros: ✅ Awesome sound quality. Stunning for the price. ✅ Records to WAV to an SD card... can record for a ridiculous amount of time. ✅ Intuitive menu (compared to the H2 Zoom, the navigation is 10X easier). ✅ Has an external mic port (8mm). E.g.
Summary: A first rate product. Exceeded my expectations. Real value for the money. I use it for digitizing analog sources to make high quality CDs. It can do much more of course. I recommend this recorder.
Summary: I couldn't get it to play what it had recorded. It is so complicated that I wasn't sure if it was broken or impossible to use. I sent it back for a refund. Still looking for one which will do the job.
Summary: This recorder does exactly what it should do. It is easy to get up and running if you have a working understanding of recording. The manual is tediously detailed, but if you do not know how these things work, read it, do what it tells you, and you will be fine. Be patient!
