Becareful :They don't give you english instructions
9 July 2013
Summary: I ordered this, it looked just perfect , but unfortunately the seller doesn't send you instructions in English so unless you are from Japan or speak Japanese . Don't order it. Find someone who sells it in the language you speak. I would have given it 5 stars if I would have been able to actually use it and keep it.
Summary: This is a great product. To get the max out of this device, know your material first....then, set the level and go. High SPLs may cause some distortion with close proximity to the device but overall this is a solid piece of equipment. I don't particularly like the folder structure of the device and some of the menus are not as intuitive as you'd expect from such a high-end device.
Pros: Easy To Use, Excellent Sound, Low Distortion, Powerful, Versatile
Summary: I am a reporter, and I wanted a recorder that can be both practical and good quality for radio work. First I was going for the marantz 620, then for the Fostex II le, and of course the sony pcm d50. I think most people who will read this review are the ones who don t know what recorder to pick from those 3 products.
Pros: Easy To Control, Easy To Set Up, Fast, Good Quality Duplicates, Works Every Time
Summary: This is a very good recorder. Super quiet, and very nice controls. Battery life is stellar. This recorder really feels like a professional piece of equipment. The display is easy to read and the recorder is pretty easy to figure out without opening the manual. (Not that I recommend that!) The built in mics are the Achilles heel of this product. They sound just a little harsh to my ears and they are not very well isolated from the body of the recorder.
Pros: Easy To Control, Easy To Set Up, Works Every Time
Summary: I think this is a great device, Ive had it for about 2 months and have been recording like a maniac with it. If you are considering it , by looks you might think it's to bulky. If you weight it out with ease of use and audio quality, the "bulky" scare will quickly go away. great mic pickup awesome stereo separation great battery life easy to use and drop files after use. audio divide button is a great feature as well.
Pros: Audio divide button, Durable, Easy To Control, Easy To Set Up, Fast, Great audio quality, Quick file transfer, Works Every Time
Summary: I've used the recorder for field interviews as well as live music performances. It's superb in the field and pretty good for live music. I use the mics provided, use the wind screen feature and find the small size and ease of use keeps the production flow simple and nonthreatening to interview subjects. It's very easy to use and downloading is fast.
Summary: I use the Sony Audio Recorder for sound recording at different locations, especially in Weddings and Concert. I have tried to use the built-in mic to record ambient sound and tried to record music from line input. Both situation impressed me. It did a very good job. The build quality is great. The price is competitive to other brands. Especially, this is a cheap price but similar quality compared to its higher level model.
Pros: Easy To Control, Easy To Set Up, Fast, Rigid Built in quality
Summary: With a good mic (and necessary adapters to use the mini mic jack) you can make a very fine quality recording. But why can't SONY do what Olympus does and include the ability to make compressed recordings (mp3, wma, etc)??? This is just the perverse kind of corporate attitude that sinks companies like Sony Music.
