Summary: I have read several of the reviews and was amazed to see that I was not the only one who was dissatisfied with the volume on the Sony M-2000. The reviews are accurate in that when you turn the volume up to 10 you can barely hear the dictation.
Summary: We bought it for our son Daniel who is totally blind. We had previously purchased the same exact model before and when it wore out so we needed to replace it with the same exact model. We found it and ordered it and he loves it. He says it works great and fits the need. Good shipping time. Thanks

Summary: This machine is terrible. It drags, then goes high, then low in volumn. I talked my boss into buying this for work, Big mistake. Never again. I have one just like it and we thought I wouldn't have to keep taking mine to his office and that we both would have one. I made a terrible decision.
Summary: My boss bought this for me to transcribe medical records. It worked fine for 6 months or so but now you can not hear clearly; muffled sound and the volume goes up and down. From the beginning when you set the volume high you still could not hear good but has now become unbearable and totally hard to...
Summary: I was pleased with the equipment I received, a microcassette transcriber. It is used daily by my secretary so is essential to my business. After several weeks of use, the equipment appears reliable.
Summary: This is a miserable piece of junk. We had one that didn't work right; the volume starts out loud, then drifts quickly down to nothing. So we bought another, as this was the only model our supplier carried. The new one is exactly the same.
