Summary: I purchased this unit from a Sony outlet 2 years ago for $90+ and wish I had kept my receipt (or my money). Aside from the short battery life, the biggest problem I ran into is that the joystick popped off the unit making it impossible to access folders, settings, etc. If you do decide to purchase this item, I recommend finding some sort of protective case for it, or you'll run the risk of losing the joystick as well.
Summary: used to take notes, records information i may have trouble remembering and journaling. used in conjuction with Naturally Speaking software. While the voice translation wasn't perfect, it saved me lots of time over the manual process of just remembering and typing.
Summary: I can't tell you how many times I've turned this on to find out the battery was dead and how many times I've had it start playing in my pocket. If you carry this in a pocket, bag or purse, it will turn on by itself and run out its battery without you knowing. It has a lock feature but you have to remember to switch it on. It also takes too long to start up, if you need this to record things that happen quickly, you will be waiting many seconds before it's ready to go.
Summary: I ordered the sony ICDUX70 - it came VERY FAST, before I expected it to, as i hadnt paid any extra for expedited shipping. The product is all in tact, comes with all its parts....and It works and sounds excellent! Thank you! I would buy from here again.
NO problems with this little piece of equipment at all

Summary: I did a bunch of research before purchasing this product because i wanted something that was efficient as far as battery life goes, easy to use, and not too expensive. This recorder did it for me. I was turned away from it at first due to negative battery reviews with some people saying that it died within the first week etc, but i have used it for over a month now and recorded about six (6) 50 minute (give or take a minute) lectures for class in stereo mode with mic...
Summary: Really happy with this little guy. It's a snazzy red and only cost me 50 bucks because it was refurbished but it works perfectly. Little baby downside: goes through batteries like poop through a goose.
Summary: I was seduced by the sleek design (and color pink) of the recorder when I bought it last winter for $100 from Amazon. But it has repeatedly failed me when I *really* needed it. -battery life is about 4-5 hours. (apparently this is an issue with other reviewers as well) -even when "off" i think it still uses the battery, because a couple times the battery was completely dead even though I had not used it and I was in the Peruvian Amazon and missed some vital recordings!
Summary: This recorder is perfect for my uses. I use it to communicate with someone long distance who currently can't use a cell phone. The sound quality is great for what we are using it for, and I like it because it's very light weight to send in the mail. I also love it because I can dump over the old files straight onto my MacBook, and it's very fast and easy to do. It was one of the only recorders I found at a decent price that works with the Mac The red color is great.
Summary: If you have any other choice, just buy anything else. I turned it on when I talked with my roomate when he stood 5 feet to me, but it cannot pick up my roomate's voice. When playing back, the speaker almost do nothing. I cannot hear it even at the maxium volume. Then I tried to play it back on my computer. However, It is still not loudly enough even when I maxium the volume of my laptop. I am going to return it.
