    When this product came out, I had done some classical concert recording with a minidisc and Sony's little plug-in-power microphone. I found my way to this IC recorder because it would power that kind of microphone, had a much longer recording time than the minidisc, and the files could be directly downloaded. This product has enabled a kind of concert recording that I now do a great deal. Read more

    I used it for lectures, my classroom is small, I sit at the 2nd row in front of my professor but the sounds recored were low, and picked up the background noises. Not very clear when playing on the recorder, but play on my computer is ok. It's useless when the room is big. It has a USB drive, it's easy to transfer file to computer. Read more

    I haven't gone through all the paces with this yet, but I'm impressed with sound quality from the internal mics and overall ease of use. I save a lot of time and headaches by using the generous internal storage versus swapping out memory cards. Just plug the device into the USB. It shows up on the desktop. Drag and Drop. Theoretically, you could take an mic feed from a mixing board or a field mixer into the mini-mic plug and record at the highest quality settings. Read more

    Sony ICDUX70 Digital Voice Recorder 3 It's interesting that some owners report good battery life, others report bad. The one I bought is BAD. It used up a battery in about 5 hours of use, which I thought was too short. So I put in a new battery and put the device in LOCK (it powered off, according to display). Four days later when I turned it on to record something, the battery was virtually flat. It ran about 10 minutes and shut down. Read more
