Excerpt: I purchased this recorder to augment meeting notes taken by hand. I've had a chance to use it a few times already and I'm very impressed with it's ability to pick up even the most soft spoken voice levels in large conference rooms. It truly is impressive. The critical key in realizing its ability is to use the included earbuds for play back. The built in speaker is barely usable..
Pros: Compact Design, High Mic Sensitivity, High Sensitivity, Long Battery Life, Reliable
Excerpt: My comments should be taken as being from someone that knows next to nothing about these type of recorders. I bought this recorder to use when interviewing people about genealogy. I wish that I would have been more observant about the size of this recorder, maybe I would have realized that it had to have a very small speaker. I am very disappointed by the sound quality. I own other Sony products and have always been pleased with them.
Excerpt: My old Sony ICD P520 digital recorder became "obsolete" with the replacement of my Windows XP desktop computer, forcing me to search for a new ICD recorder. The old Sony was such a reliable device that going with a brand other than Sony was not an option. The search was made on-line at both retail outlets and the Sony web site, for there are some current ICD recorders out there that believe it or not are incompatible with WIndows 8.
Excerpt: Tiny, unobtrusive, and nondescript device is incredibly sensitive. Captured every word in a large crowded Board room meeting. Built-in software downloads to PC via USB and provides a powerful audio editing suite to customize my recording, and file sharing with others via email. This product is worthy of the Sony label, and delivers stereo quality sound you'd expect from them. Best purchase in a long time!
