what a POS

Keith "Keith", Amazon
25 October 2011
  • Summary: I have never bought a bad Sony product until now. This is an embarassment to Sony - The deveopment team for this POS should be assigned to a ball bearing factory. The speaker has no resolution, so there is no quick play back capability and the overall interface is cumbersome at best.

Old technology fobbed off on unsuspecting buyers

Kathryn PDX, Amazon
24 June 2010
  • Summary: If the default date is any indication, this recorder was manufactured in 2006. It is at least a generation older, probably more, than the recorder I am replacing. Rather than record mp3 files that automaticlly open iTunes when the recorder is inserted into the USB drive, it uses a proprietary...

Miserable Directions

L. W. Burnett, Amazon
26 January 2010
  • Summary: I could never get this thing to work. Start dictating, want to stop, and can't figure out how to do it without going back to the beginning. The directions ("manual") is worthless.

NOT MAC COMPATIBLE - must own a PC

Tessa Horehled, Amazon
16 January 2009
  • Summary: So aggrevated there aren't more voice recorders on the market that are mac compatible like those that are pc compatible! The direct USB is a nice feature but you HAVE to have the software installed on your PC in order for your computer to even detect anything is plugged in. Argh.

Exclusive, not Mac compatible, Sony failed

Hugh Macdonald "computer magician", Amazon
25 December 2007
  • Summary: Proprietary format and although it is a FAT16 flash drive when plugged into a PC, for some reason it cannot be seen on a Mac. Sony exclusivity is a big mistake. Don't buy this -- it will just be a big hassle trying to read, process, share the files.

Save your money

Matt H., Amazon
11 November 2007
  • Summary: I was excited about some of the features of this product, along with the price for what's offered. (Said features stopped me from giving this a 1-star rating.) Unfortunately, the sound quality is HORRIBLE compared to others I've heard, many of which are less expensive.
