Poorly designed buttons and no Mac compatibility

Kirk, Amazon
21 October 2013
  • Summary: While this recorder is conveniently-sized and has plenty of on-board space, there is also plenty to complain about. With so many features, it is clearly designed for more professional applications. Then why not provide any Mac compatibility at all?

Fantastic

Chief Propellerhead, Amazon
4 September 2013
  • Summary: I've had this thing for over 8 years now. Best voice recorder I've ever had. It's small, fits in your pocket, is easy to use without having to look at it, and has very good voice quality and ability to pick up low level sounds.

horrible

deb, Amazon
27 June 2011
  • Summary: I purchased the product for tape recording lectures in school. I sat right up close by the professor. I took it home and it was impossible to listen too. I could not make out a word the professor was speaking and that was at the highest volume. After much arguing I finally got my money back.

Don't lose your manual - No Mac Support

Jill McIntire, Amazon
15 February 2009
  • Summary: So packed full of features it can get overwhelming. If you don't need all the features, you may want to opt for a cheaper model with less features to remember. You can use it as an alarm clock if you can figure out how to set it!

Great for College Students

Yoga Girl, Amazon
11 June 2008
  • Summary: I purchased this item for my college bound boyfriend who is studying music. He uses it to record himself on drums, then transfers it to the computer (MP3 files for his MP3 player as well!). Discreet size make this a plus not to mention the digital aspect as well. Overall, a great buy.

Lightweight and easy to use....

Mikki, Amazon
1 December 2007
  • Summary: The Sony ICD-SX25VTP -($199.99 at Amazon.com and as low as $165.00 with other online merchants listed through Amazon.com) is light and compact digital voice recorder. After careful research, I decided to settle on this model because it comes with the Dragon Naturally Speaking Preferred...

Great Device!

Patsy, Amazon
7 October 2006
  • Summary: I work as a journalist and I love this little handheld recording stick. I've managed to integrate it with the voice recognition software that comes with the package so this has saved me hours of time what with dictating my articles into the stick and then letting the computer transcribe it for me.

Sony- stick you at every opportunity- ZERO Stars

Steve P. Drevik "Steve Dr.", Amazon
6 September 2006
  • Summary: I paid $250 for a voice recorder and couldn't find the CD when I replaced my laptop. You'd think Sony would offer a download or replacement through support- but NO. You have to BUY the software all over again.

Excellent recorder - even for music

Julie M., Amazon
18 June 2006
  • Summary: I bought this to record rock shows, after having been impressed with the quality of some bootlegs I'd heard recorded on it earlier in the year. I've recorded four shows so far and considering that this recorder isn't designed for that sort of dynamic range or level, the quality is truly outstanding.
