Summary: Ah, what can I say. The Sony-PCD820 Recorder has problems. Great concept, with plenty of memory BUT the thing locks up on me, with the screen blinking the word, "ACCESS." I was luckily able to download some 80 files that I had recorded onto my computer.
Summary: While this bad boy worked at all: The adjustable mic sensitivity allows for optimal use in a variety of situations, and the sound quality is pretty decent. I can't imagine superior quality from an internal mic of this size and price.

Summary: I use this recorder for my lectures. I was looking for a quality recorder with a USB port to transfer my lectures to my computer. This device has good recording quality and transfers data in a timely fashion. (For 3 hour lectures, it transfers to the computer in less than a minute.
Summary: First the bad news - the recorder died. Yes - I had it in my pocket while snowshoeing, but it didn't get wet and both a digital camera and cell-phone survived. I've also seen other reports this model suddenly stopping working.
