Summary: Our attorney is "old school" and likes to dictate. This is the only microcassette that he likes...and I have tried several! The legal assistant just told me the other day that since getting the new dictator the attorney is so clear and easy to hear on the transcriber. I am happy, the attorney is happy and the legal assistant is happy. That is a very good combination!
Summary: The recorder kept stopping whenever I attempted to dictate. I know how it works I've had 6 of them over the past 10 yrs--clearly wasn't checked to make sure operated properly b4 u sent it. I guess that's what I get for buying a used one.
Summary: I used this recorder for years for transcription to microcassettes for business purposes. I found this to be more reliable and is a more compact size than the usual plastic recorder. Easy to slip in your pocket on the go. Uses 2 AAA batteries. This has a metal case and is more rugged and durable than the average plastic recorder.
Summary: In today's digital age, this is a rather primitive device that has served me very well, me being a rather primitive dictator of text for transcription. This has a metal case and is more rugged and durable than the many plastic recorders out there. If for some reason you want to use microcassette tapes, I recommend this machine.
Summary: I've owned a couple BM-575's. They are well-designed and reasonably rugged little machines. The one hand operation with the thumb-operated switch is what makes this dictation machine totally different from "micro cassette recorders." This machine has been on the market for years. It's kind of odd that no one has made a digital machine that measures up to the BM-575.
Summary: I am thrilled to be able to find this machine. Our law firm does not want to go digital since the younger attorneys no longer use dictation equipment but we still need the microcassette machines for our "senior" attorneys. They're getting harder and harder to find so I was extremely happy they still have this recorder.
Summary: I also preferred my Dictaphone recorder, but it has died. The cheapies don't last. Dictationmall.com reccomended this one and I have been very pleased.I use it to transcribe in my solo Texas Family Practice. Picking up a spare while they still make em.
