Summary: I bought 3, and glad I did. The first never worked. Return cost not worth mailing back a piece of junk. The second and third are used in 2 locations; they eat batteries, sometimes I'll stop to hear what I've dictated and only get static on one of them, until I shake it a few times. One only records on the 'first half' of the battery. I can use the batteries after I pull them out of the machine; they're not dead.
Sadly this recorder would have been perfect if it worked

Summary: Sadly this recorder would have been perfect if it worked. I was so excited to get it I put a tape in right away and hit record. The motor was so loud that the tape picked up the noise. When I hit playback, it was so fast that I sounded like a chipmunk on top of the motor noise that was picked up on the recording. I am returning this product. The shipping was fast however. Can't complain their.
Summary: This dictaphone is replacing one that broke. Unfortunately “they” can’t make a digital voice recorder with a pause button, which is essential for me. In fact the pause button is the only good reason I can think of for getting a mini-cassette tape recorder instead of a digital voice recorder, well that and my transcription machine which takes tapes. But anyway, the reason for two stars is that the pause button is ridiculously difficult to use!

Summary: I had been looking for a good tape player and purchased another cheap model last year. It didn't work and I let them know and instead of refunding - they sent me another piece of cheap junk. Was thinking I would never find one to play some old cassettes of my kids when they were babies - but I got online the other day and found this one. Just like the ones I used to have. And it plays the tapes easily! Works great. Quality ok for what I need.
Summary: If you would like to get the newest, flashiest gadgets for your audio needs.......this is NOT for you. This tape recorder uses plain, inexpensive cassettes, does not play MP3s, does not easily download to your laptop, like the new-fangled flash memory recorders from Sony or Olympus. THAT is the down side.
Summary: Bought this as a gift for our sister who is serving a mission, so we could record tapes and send them back and forth. I wouldn't buy this voice recorder again, or recommend it. It will randomly slow down or speed up the voice recording (imagine deep slow voice and then fast chipmunk like voice). It doesn't record very clearly and unfortunately we have lost some recordings because of it.
Summary: I was excited to find a recorder that takes tapes because you can't find one anywhere. It clicks throughout your conversation. I tried to return it but it was over 30 days (I was hoping it was the tapes and not the recorder) but they wouldn't exchange it. Don't buy this.
