Summary: As 82-year-old, I'm still into the mode of using the cassette/recorder, etc. I think this one will work nicely -- my secretary has been practicing with it and says she likes it and thinks I will, too. To be honest, I have not yet had time to use it b/c of my travel schedule but hope to use it this coming month. Secretary says the clarity on it is excellent -- so it must be the operator if we have problems.
We are just getting these installed but they were easy to order and received them promptly.

Summary: We are just getting these installed on our computer but they were easy to order and received them promptly. I reviewed the Quick Start guide which was clear and learned how to record meetings and download the file to my computer.
Summary: Seems ideal on the surface. Great clarity, easy to navigate software. Even the handheld recorder itself is easy to use. We have had it for less than a year and it broke. The memory cards will no longer seat in the thing. Do NOT waste your money.
Summary: Ok, so if you have been using the same equipment for many years there might be an adjustment period. But we actually love everything about this kit. The doctor does the transribing and loves the high quality materials of the recorder. And the reason for the single button is its small size and light weight. The foot pedal and headphones are very similar to old-fashioned tape machine equipment. The software is very full-featured, but it is rather poorly written.
Summary: The quality of dictation is great, but I still haven't figured out how to get the downloaded dictation to my computer for transcription (been using this for about a month now). Sometimes the dictation just appears at my computer; other times, I have to manually ask for the download/upload, and wait, and wait, and wait. I can't figure out why some dictations appear seamlessly and others are brutally difficult to get.
Summary: I don't personally use it, but it seems to be all that we expected and more. It is simple to operate. The shipping was easy, timely, and we have not had any difficulty with anything. We appreciate your follow up, thanks.
Summary: I've used dictating equipment for 25 years. This dictaphone is very counter-intuitive and the worst I've ever used. The record button is not on a slide and I am constantly thinking it is recording when it is not (and vice versa). You push the same button to record and stop it. Yes, if you constantly stare at the screen and don't think about what you're saying (who does that?) then you will be able to see if it's recoding. But most normal people don't dictate that way.
