Recorder for work

Summary: Seems to have a lot of features for the end user I purchased this device for. It is for work and has worked well for us over the older unit we had which was tape and the batteries seem to drain fast on the older unit over this model. It worked for us.
Summary: I like it! Nice features for a recorder in this price range. Sound quality is good for voice / lectures / sermons. Live music isn't bad either. Overall happy with purchase. Are there better out there? Probably. But we weren't willing to pay twice as much for just a little better quality.
Beware, Philips DVT 7000 is Philips 5500 plus an external, circular, Meeting Microphone.

Summary: I purchased via Amazon the "Philips DVT7000/00 Philips Voice Tracer Digital Recorder with 360° Recording Voice Recorder" (which is also printed on the box, with UPC 6 095854 22795 8). I thought the DVT 7000 was a newer model than the DVT 5500. But when I was learning the controls I found that Menu > Device settings > Information shows "DVT5500".
Summary: I have no complaints on this whatsoever. The included mic is great. I use this to records board meetings and it does a great job at clearly recording all speakers at various distances. If features other than clarity and simple recordings are important to you I can't help with that, but for quality, clarity and ease of use this is 5 stars.
Summary: Smaller recorder, but does a great job with sound. I have been recording meetings and people who listen to it later have no problem understanding what was said. A little challenging to operate, but once you learn the programs, works very well.
