Summary: Get the Sony ICD-AX412 Digital Flash Memory Voice Recorder. This Panasonic will not work with XP and you have to convert every file that it makes which add a couple of steps in the make mp3 process.

Summary: I got this recorder as a replacement for a Panasonic recorder that was about 9 years old. I was very satisfied with my last recorder. This recorder is also very good, but there are a few problems. This recorder has an excellent capacity to get a strong hold on the voice within the classroom.
Summary: As a digital voice recorder, this works fine. With respect to its touted ability to transcribe recorded voices into text, give this one a wide berth. As others have mentioned, the software is incredibly complex and the documentation is flimsy at best.
