The Panasonic RR-US470 is a digital voice recorder that measures 4.13 x 1.53 x 0.56 inches and weighs 2.2 ounces with batteries. It features a large LCD screen and an easy-to-use quick search dial. The device is powered by 2 AAA batteries that can last up to 15 hours of continuous playback and 30 hours of continuous recording. The RR-US470 comes with a voice interpreter and text translation software which can be used to edit English audio files as well as translate them to five foreign language including German, Spanish, French, Russian, and Italian.

Voice Recorder

The Panasonic RR-US470 comes with a built-in zoom microphone and it is equipped with quick start recording technology. It also has a digital Voice Activated System (VAS) that makes the device begin recording when the microphone detects sound. Apart from these, it has timer recording options allowing for automatic record start at a set time. The device offers three recording modes. These include HQ, FQ, and SP. Depending on the mode used, it can record up to 134 hours.

Storage

The recorder makes 5 folders available for easy file management. Each folder can store up to 99 files allowing for storage of up to 495 files. It also has a security folder that password-protects sensitive files.

Playback

The Panasonic RR-US470 is equipped with a built-in front speaker for playback purposes. It offers users with five recording speeds for easy transcription. It also has a feature for timer play that can be used as an alarm.

    What do we want in a voice recorder? It's simple, really: Diverse audio options, an easy-to-use organizational display, and enough sensitivity to preserve sounds with lifelike fidelity.     As a digital voice recorder, this works fine. With respect to its touted ability to transcribe recorded voices into text, give this one a wide berth. As others have mentioned, the software is incredibly complex and the documentation is flimsy at best. After an exceedingly frustrating (and lengthy) attempt to train the PC software, the results were abysmal. It actually wasn't too bad with my voice but my wife (who was the one who actually trained the software) saw horrid... Read more
