Summary: Bought the product becuse of the name. It is quite bulky although itworks fine. Was disappointed that there was no electrical wire to connect to the power. Surely they cud have put one in and charged the extra 3 or 4 dollars instead of forcing people to go out again and hunt for electrical wires. Totally backward.
Summary: I bought this to listen to cassette tapes only; not to record. The clarity is very good and the unit is easy to use. (My previous, very small unit was difficult to hear. Then it stopped working altogether.) Rather large (by today's standards) but built well. I have used it for about 3 weeks without any issues. I would buy again. Hope this helps.
Basic natural analog playback sound with sufficient volume
22 July 2013
Summary: In fall 2012 I ordered one of this product, and a couple weeks later ordered another one as a spare. This recorder produces a fuller more detailed, natural sound than the smaller Sony cassette recorder. It operates on either battery or AC, but for some reason the sound is a little better on battery. Batteries last a fairly long time--longer than for the Sony.
Summary: Holy cow, try finding a old style tape recorder anywhere in the stores now days! Family member's doctor records everything on cassette so it can be shared with the rest of the family, and after visiting 5 different national stores and not finding a machine like this, we came to the 'Zon and found this. Seems to work well.
Summary: I read previous reviews before ordering this cassette recorder. In one of the reviews, it said that it was easy to use and that older adults would be able to easily use it. That was exactly the reason that I ordered it and it definitely is just what we needed.
