Summary: I used it to record voice and guitar. For listening to music straight from the recorder, the quality was not as nice/enjoyable as it is with a previous model Olympus (which lacks the USB feature). Once it's filed on computer, the sound was better. Perhaps more of a note-taking device for students and business purposes. Meanwhile, it could be a whole lot worse, considering the price. I'm not in a hurry to replace it.
Summary: These small recorders still have very 1980's style interfaces, despite having lcd screens. That said, the functionality is good, and the sound quality when recording in a small conference room is completely satisfactory.
Summary: Very easy to use with good battery life. The recordings of a public speaker sound very tinny and high pitched. A woman's voice had a strong resemblance to Micky Mouse. It does not stand up to the quality I expected.
It has a cheap plastic-like feel to it, but it works fine with my Mac

Summary: Pros - holds a charge well enough - charges quickly enough - sound quality is good - can double as an MP3 player - comes with an extension cable and case - very lightweight Cons - the plastic casing feels like it is low quality I'm happy with it - no complaints yet.
Summary: I bought this to record the services at my church. Originally the idea was to plug it into the mixer's output and record from the microphones, but ultimately I discovered that the part we really wanted to capture - the sermon - was best recorded by simply turning the unit on, setting it to "record" and putting it on the priest's lectern. Doing it this way, I get superb-quality mp3 recordings that are actually better than ones pulled using a mic.
Summary: I'm in a barbershop chorus and we have music to learn and need to tape ourselves singing for critiquing. This recorder holds tons of music! It also has a nifty feature to speed up or slow down music, and to change the pitch. Easy to use. Very light. Plugs right into your computer to download or upload music files. Very cool.
