Summary: This is a great product that works as advertised. I bring it to class whenever I need detailed notes. I took off one star because the items are a little difficult to organize within the folders. Otherwise, it works great and it's very pretty.
Summary: This is a great little recorder. I read the reviews carefully before ordering it and I agree with much of what was said. Cons: TINY, hard-to-read display (maybe it's just my eyes!), confusing interface and very difficult to understand instructions. Lost a star for this. Seriously, they could stand to hire someone to help with interface design. It's not intuitive and the instructions are thick to wade through.
Summary: This is a great recorder. It is easy to use (once you get the battery charged!) and has pretty good sound quality on the recordings. The only problem I have with it is that sometimes when I'm in the recording menu I can't figure out how to just get back to the home menu, since there's not "back" or "home" button. Also, the "hold" switch is a great idea, but a plain old Power on/off switch would be helpful as well.
Summary: It's so light without a battery inside that I thought it was a fake at the very first sight. However it looks better and better with using it. I just come from China and I wanna buy sth made in USA but I failed.
Summary: Looks great! I wanted a cute voice recorder that works great and I got it with the Olympus WS-500 Digital Voice Recorder. So happy..^-^ However, the buds on the earphones kept falling off..but still this was a very good purchase and so far I am really happy with it. I haven't tried to figure out how to filter through other noices besides the actual lecture from my professor speaking. Other than taht the sound quality is very good and effective.
Summary: Although playing the recorded audio file on it might not sound so great, but once the file is transferred to a computer, the sound quality is actually fairly decent. The product does what it suppose to do, but the user interface definitely could use a lot of work; its entire user interface feels like it was designed by someone who never used a computer.
Summary: Pros: compact, lightweight, seems sensitive to hear fainter sounds Cons: operation is not intuitive. For example, holding the stop button while plugging in the USB to charge it. If you don't hold the button, it won't start to charge. Also, no explicit "on/off" button...well, there is one but it's not labeled "on/off". Very odd. Records in WMA, instead of MP3. Had to get a plug-in for QuickTime to play it on a Mac (which is what the recipient of this device uses).
Summary: This little recorder is an excellent value. I use it to record lectures in college. I bought an additional directional microphone attachment to help cut out some of the extraneous class noise. It works beautifully. I couldn't get over how small and lightweight it is. I had an old mini-tape unit from years ago and am amazed at the difference in sound quality and storage capacity. This has 2Gb and will hold something like 30 hours of recordings.
Summary: The voice recorder works great but I would have given it a 5 star if it allowed me to pause in the middle of a recording session rather stopping and recording a whole new file. But overall its a great product I use it for my college lectures and I can hear my professors just fine with the right sound setting. I usually set it in HQ and its enough to pick up my professors voice from the back of the class.
