Summary: the recorder is fine the directions are awful. I finally went to the friend that has one and asked what I was doing wrong and she said the directions were not correct. She told me what to do and at last I have success in using the product. If it had not been for my friend I would have sent it back. Everyone out here is not electronic savy so it would help if the directions were simple and in steps. Thank you for listening.
Summary: This is a great product that works as advertised. I bring it to class whenever I need detailed notes. I took off one star because the items are a little difficult to organize within the folders. Otherwise, it works great and it's very pretty.
Good product, professional sound for a very reasonable price.

Summary: I bought two of these for our church. Our minister wanted to record his sermons and lessons for transfer to cd. They work great. He has had no problem with them and the cd comes out load and clear. If you are looking for an inexpensive recorder, this will do the job.
BEST of VOICE RECORDERS that Olympus has ever made

Summary: The newer ones do not pick up as well. When they run out of battery you have to start over if you are listening to something. Not this model. Put the new battery in and just keep going. I love it! I've owned 3 so far. (one I dropped in the bathtub when I was listening to music and drinking wine!) so not the recorders fault. One I dropped too many times and this is my third.
Summary: I love this digital recorder. I bought it online from adorama.com (where it was a bit cheaper) in 2011 after reading the reviews here on Amazon. I don't think Adorama sells this exact model anymore but it is worth buying nonetheless! So.. I found this after searching for a digital recorder that also played mp3's but honestly I did not think I would find one- thank goodness for Olympus!
Summary: This recorder's printing on the buttons and on the screen are way too small to use effectively. It's not like everybody is young and doesn't need reading glasses. Really annoying and the screen is not bright, so the small print really discourages use. I really hate companies that cram the type 6 or smaller font onto buttons and expect customers to be able to read it.
