Summary: Does what I bought it for, recording lectures. Occasional use as an Thumb drive. USB connectivity with out a hitch. Have not used for music playback. Earbuds OK for lecture playback while commuting in car, but usually transfer to PC and playback at home.
Pros: Perfect for recording class lectures. Does an adequate job without an external mike. Compact and light weight.
Cons: Menu navigation a bit awkward. Eats batteries on playback. Appears fragile, but have not had any actual issues.
Summary: The Olympus WS-331M is everything I hoped it would be. It records perfectly, and holds hours upon hours of data. I use it to record notes for documents I write at work (I am a Technical Writer), and this enables me to get accurate information from the SME's and not have to go back to refresh...
Summary: The quality of the recording is amazing. I bought it for my classes and for meetings ...no matter where I sit, the recordings are very clear. Very asy to use. I did not purchase it for music so I have not been using it for that. This is definitely one of my better buys online.
Summary: The recording quality is excellent. It's easy to use -- even for anyone not familiar with or into the latest tech gadgets. The instruction manual is thorough, clearly written, and easy to understand.
Summary: This device is well made, attractive, simple to operate and loaded with features. I use the music features infrequently so I cannot vouch for them. The device has so many external switches and trim that it's probably not that durable, but you couldn't expect anything that tiny to be bulletproof.
Summary: A bit higher than what I wanted to spend, but absolutely LOVE the quality in sound. Bought the larger model so I could use it as an MP3 player as well. The sound is a bit soft on the MP3 side of it- but not so bad. Doesn't block out all the outside sound, but what do you expect from the earphones?
Summary: I bought this to replace my cheesy MP3 player, old voice recorder, and USB thumb drive and couldn't be more pleased with it. I use it to record notes and trip reports, as a general purpose USB drive to transfer files (2 GB memory!), and to record high quality stereo from audio sources.
Summary: i host a radio bicycling show, and travel to--and participate in--bicycle races year 'round, and need an audio recording device that will allow me to capture, with NPR quality, both conversations and ambient sounds to recreate the atmosphere of the event or the person which is the subject of the...
