Summary: This is second VN-6200 I have used, on the first one the speaker failed after a possible drop onto a hard floor. This new one was an offer that was worth taking. The units are easy to set up and use and for transferring into a WMA application on a Win 7 computer. Except for losing the speaker on the first one very easy to use, the first one is still usable for recording and downloading the files, just cannot use the speaker for checking while recording or between...
Summary: I have used this device as a study aid for countless classes and lectures. In classes for math and science, information can come at you pretty fast. You write furiously to copy down the all-important proofs and lemmas put forward by the professor...only to find that you can't remember the context. Enter the voice recorder: you fast forward to the part you were writing about, compare your notes to the professor's remarks, and BOOM! Instant clarity.
Summary: I recorded a meeting. I will type up notes from this meeting. I had a hard time hearing individual voices when more than two people were talking or if there was the rustling of papers. I heard more rustling of papers than voices. I might need to centralize the recorder more and playback is difficult. It takes you all the way back to the beginning when I just want to go back a second. Might be I'm not operating it correctly. I did manage to get what I needed off of it.
Summary: I've owned this for a year now, and I'm not too thrilled with it. I work for a church and I've used this both discreetly and openly to record meetings and small to medium size conferences as well as personal music practice. Using LP mode and the high sensitivity mic setting for lecture and meeting recordings, the voices come out as if the speaker had little to no enunciation, kind of like an adult on Charlie Brown cartoons.
Summary: I used this on a paranormal investigation, instructions were easy to understand and learned how to utilize the recorder quickly. Great recorder for the money... more than enough hours of recording time and storage. Battery life is great too..
If you need an inexpensive good quality voice recorder, this is the one.

Summary: I bought this because a group of friends started doing paranormal research. I am totally impressed by the sound quality. If you are playing back directly from the devise through headphones it is not in stereo, but once you upload it to a computer via usb, it is in stereo. It is very user friendly and the battery life is amazing.
Excellent digital recorder- Super easy to transfer to MAC

Summary: Bought this product in order to record random, fast-moving thoughts instead of having to physically write them down as well as taking notes during lectures and study groups for school. PROS: -Very easy to figure out: has 6 buttons plus a directional pad with 5 separate folders for storing sound bits. -Incredibly lightweight and compact: very easy to throw in a purse, backpack, or pocket without trouble.
