Summary: Purchased this item to be used for my paranormal investigations group. I already have a Sony but wanted a 2nd recorder with USB transfer ability. This one I like a LOT more than my Sony. Larger form factor with bigger buttons. Audio is cleaner as well. Buttons on the Sony are too small in my opinion and the audio on playback is pretty dirty. I highly recommend this digital recorder.
Summary: I also had problems with converting file formats. Don't buy if you are planning to burn recordings onto CDs. Also, apparently the headphone jack is designed to only work with one headphone instead of both. Kind of annoying. And the quality of the recordings in NOT very good at all. Perhaps due to comparison (Sony IC Recorder ICD-PX720 - MUCH better product for about the same price).
Summary: The product that came was quite used and a little battered here and there but overall, it works pretty fine. It's great for its price but it could be less, for the quality. But hey, it came with batteries. Thats it. Just the unit itself and the batteries. Everything else you would have to get online or buy it. :C.
Summary: Too bad they don't make this any more. In particular, the new ones don't have the pocket clip, which keeps it from falling out of your pocket. In general, it works just as the manufacturer describes it. The only fault is that the cover for the PC connector is a little flimsy; I worry it will break one day.
Summary: I use the recorder for (2) things: Practicing presentations (Work and Toastmasters) Recording our dog while we're out (auto-on feature) I'm no expert, but the audio quality sounds spot-on, the batteries life and recorded duration are perfectly long enough, the features are exactly what I need for those (2) tasks.
Summary: This is my first experience using Overstock.com I am impressed with the speed and convenience of using the service. The digital voice recorder seems to work very well. I purchased it for a very specific task and have not had an opportunity to give it the acid test yet. But so far, it looks like it will do the job very well.
Summary: What a great find! Just a few dollars more than the non-pc linkable version I recently bought for my Dad (and with twice the capacity AND 2/3 the size!). Records w/ searchable index and timer -- great for Mystery Shoppers! Just hide it in your hand and click at each timed event. With "fast replay" I can review my notes and easily record the times. 5 thumbs up! (well, 5 stars and 2 thumbs up).
Summary: I'm just using this occasionally to take notes. Sound quality seems pretty good to me. Taped a lecture with other noise in the room & I was able to understand it later. Don't think it is reproduction quality, but it works well for me. Lecture speaker was about 30 feet away from my recorder. Haven't tried any of the connections to PC yet.
