Summary: I've used this Olympus many times over the years along with a watch-battery powered Radio Shack Model: 33-3013 battery powered tie clip microphone (I'm sure something similar can be found on Amazon too). I have used it to record lectures with excellent results using the highest quality setting.
Summary: this is a nice digital recorder .its easy to figure out how to operate and has a desent sound quality on XHQ.i would recomend good quality batteries though like duracell or energizer,as they tend to last longer.

Summary: Like the title says. I purchased this recorder a while back, no longer have the cd. Now the only way to get it is to buy one for twenty dollars from their website. No way to retrieve my recordings.
Summary: It does what it claims to do, simple control layout, good sound quality, especially at the higher quality settings. Just be aware that there is no USB connection for transferring files to a PC, so if it is to be used for dictation it can only be played back using the same machine it was recorded on.
Don't lose the CD. Not a regular USB device. Software required.

Summary: I'm really mad at Olympus. I had to reinstall my operating system for reasons unrelated to this product. Now I can't use the DVR because I don't have the original CD. You need special software to pull the .avi files from the device. Do I still have the original CD? No.
