Summary: The new model TP-8 replaced this one. TP-7 is no longer manufactured by Olympus. Don't bother ordering the TP-7. Companies will send you the TP-8 but charge you the higher price. Happend to me twice. Just order the TP-8. It works great.
Summary: It plugs into your mic jack of the voice recorder... it includes 2 other jack converters so that it will fit almost anything we'd have in the US. It has 2 alternate earpieces, soft and cushiony, to fit small or large ears.... the medium one already on it fit perfectly. It sits flush with your ear, so you just set your blue tooth headset over it, or just put the phone on speaker or hold your phone to your ear normally.
Summary: This is an ear-phone type unit. in order for it to record, you have to insert the inner-ear unit into the ear and then you use any telephone as usual. It will record anything you hear from that ear and your voice.
Summary: The only problem I have with the TP-7 is the quality of the cord. I would have liked one a little more beefy and coated with a more flexible rubberized plastic. Now to the good: everything. It is comfortable to wear and doesn't interfere with the phone or conversation. I don't know why some have criticized the quality of the recording, but I have a feeling it has more to do with the recorder than it does with this mic.
Summary: I conduct interviews over the phone and needed a way to record the call. I'm very impressed with the sound quality this little mic picks up. I've used it with my land line and my cell phone and was pleased with the results. I was skeptical about how it would work with my cell which does not sound that great to begin with, but the mic did a surprisingly good job.
Summary: I bought this in conjunction with the Olympus Digital Voice Recorder (VN 6000) in order to record phone conversations, and both work together easily as planned! The functionality and concept is elegant and simple to execute: plug the phone recording device into the mic jac on the recorder, put the piece in your ear, hold the phone over the ear-pieced ear, and you're done with set up.
Summary: Olympus TP-7 Telephone Recording Device Purchased this under a rush situation to go along with a Sony ICD-PX820 Digital Voice Recorder and it did wonderfully! Super easy to use, reasonable price, and good quality recording for being a little device. Saved the day recording legal & sentimental saved messages off my phone that were going to be lost forever due to the provider's change in their messaging service. Found more uses for it now with my business!
Summary: If you buy a digital voice recorder, this is a very handy accessory to get. I bought this with an Olympus 8100PC digital voice recorder and it works perfectly, I recorded a phone conversation earlier today to test it out and it worked great. The main reason I bought a digital voice recorder was to record phone conversations using this TP7 accessory.
Summary: Excellent -- easy to use, provides good quality results with one exception: important for recording person to speak low and to have volume on Olympus recorder set high to get best clarity of other voice.
