Summary: This is truly an outstanding company, very professional & helpful. He immediately offered either a refund or a replacement of parts.Eventually sent 3 different machines until I chose the one I wanted, an OlympusPearlcorder, assembled by Phillips (1734).He was supportive and determined to provide a good product. In my opinion he has raised the bar, surpassing all the other companies. Thanks, Steve G.
Summary: I bought my original machine about 10 years ago. I thought eventually it would die because I was using it at least 8 hours a day. After 4 or 5 years, our store no longer carried them so when I happened on while visiting relatives out of town I bought a back-up. I used the original machine for 7 years and it still works. I went to work for the hospital then so I still have a new one and an older one that never let me down.
Summary: I've been transcribing for over 25 years - I work a lot - go thru one of these every 12 to 18 months, but the sony has the WORST audio - lasts only about six weeks and the panasonics are sturdy, but quirky. I won't even send a sony back to be refurbished, but these seem to come back in excellent shape. This machine is overall, the BEST. Most of my docs are going digital, but for the ones that won't - this is the best, in my opinion.
Summary: This machine was the right buy for me in a rather difficult situation. The Pearlcorder is the best transcribing machine in my opinion. It is well-made and made to last. Unfortunately, they have stopped making them, so i was thrilled to find this machine. It got to me in a very timely manner, and it is working well. i am very satisfied with my purchase.
Summary: After returning, not one, but two, Sony transcribers. I bought this one because someone else I knew used this one. I LOVE it. It has more features than my Sony and is just all over a sturdier piece of office equipment. It has made transcribing (almost) a pleasure!
Summary: I have been an at-home medical transcriptionist for 14 years. I went through my first two machines fairly quickly, but this was my third machine and it has lasted me 8 years. It has just now started to die slowly (started to drag for a couple of weeks, now won't rewind) but is still working as long as I rewind the tapes by hand - with just enough time to order a new one. :) It's a very reliable machine - you'll love it!
