Summary: I like the product recording but dislike the menu system. I wish Olympus implement dial and button function rather than users have to go through the menu setting every time. It should have buttons for input, record level and rotating dial. The menu system is very cumbersome.

Excerpt: This device creates high quality recordings, even when the music is REALLY loud. Ideal for recording loud (Rock, Jazz) concerts. I was recording a concert the other day and when my SLR with an external stereo mic picked up distorted sound, LS-100 still gave me a perfect, non distorted result.
Pros: Compact Design, High Dynamic Range, High Quality Sound, Long Battery Life, Reliable
Excerpt: I have used the LS-100 to record a concert band, replacing a unit with separate XLR microphones, cables, and a lot of setup time. The sound stage is great, and the frequency response is outstanding. It can take our loudest sounds without overload (over 100 musicians in a middle school auditorium).
Pros: Compact Design, Full feature set, High Quality Sound, Long Battery Life, Simple interface
Summary: Be awared that I am taking this recorder as a high-end digital audio player. I have been concerned about this product for a month. I am looking for a recorder possessing great sound quality to fit in my in-earbuds like IE80, JVC FX700, MX980 and SE530.
Summary: Pros: Typical solid Olympus construction; one which has a professional feel and the controls won’t make you wonder how long it will last. The raised lower edge with a U-shaped indentation was a well thought out ergonomic design feature.
