Rebuilt Perlcorder is a great deal

Kathy Zang, Amazon
15 January 2014
  • Summary: Our office is having trouble finding these. We use them for dictation. Tried this re-built one from "ANBY Tech" and we are very happy with the condition of it and saved money.

Great recorder, but too fragile

Allaw, Amazon
3 January 2014
  • Summary: This recorder does its job well, but be careful with it. The battery cover breaks easily if this thing is dropped or knocked around. If it were more sturdy (especially the battery cover / latch), I would give it five stars. (A great broken recorder is still broken.

Don't buy this piece of junk

Annette Bloom-Dickison, Amazon
2 May 2013
  • Summary: Immediately started having problems with recorder. It has eaten tapes, door either won't open or pops off completely. Sound isn't any better than the $35 recorder I bought for backup. Definitely not worth the money. Sound isn't any better than cheaper models. So disappointed. It is a cheaply made, plastic piece of junk.

So far, so good

Raindance, Amazon
30 April 2013
  • Summary: Mechanism is smooth and works very well. Had one glitch but that seemed to pass over. Better than Sony or Panasonics still available.

Defective! But I am beyond the return date.

glorida, Amazon
5 April 2013
  • Summary: I bought two recorders in December 2012. I used one until it dropped on the floor and the battery door broke (my fault). When I went to use the second one, I discovered that the rewind button doesn't work! $149 recorder??? Really??? It is now April 2013, and I am beyond the return date. From now on, I will stick with the inexpensive recorders.

Like the pearl order of old

Raindance, Amazon
8 February 2013
  • Summary: This hand held dictaphone used to be my favorite for its ultra smooth operation and ease of button use. The current version. Is fabulous, too. Compared to the other I used recently (Sony) which is good, this is excellent. It is light and hand friendly for a woman's hand. You don't have to push the buttons too hard and the tape picks up on the beginning of the word, rather than leaving a sound gap which occurs on other dictaphone s.

GREAT recorder...

Tadeh, Amazon
12 January 2013
  • Summary: I don't know what some of you are talking about, but this is an AMAZING recorder for it's price. This is the read deal. I have used many recorders and this one, surprisingly, works best with the application that I use it for. It has a very high quality audio playback. Don't be fooled by its price.

Substandard

Susan Bromley, Amazon
1 August 2012
  • Summary: I had already returned a defective microcassette recorder. This one also had noise and the rewind wouldn't work so I flipped the tape and used fast forward and then that didn't work.

20 year old Pearlcorder S922

Ladygirl, Amazon
24 June 2012
  • Summary: I've used my Pearlcorder S922 twenty(?) some years for recording speeches and loaning to students and practicing my own readings. It just quit. This model is outdated but I hope to get another as good as it's invaluable, fits in my purse also!. I bought it at Costco many years ago. Wondering if my cassettes will work in J500. Thanks Olympus!
