The Sony GV-D800 is backward compatible with HI8 and 8mm tapes. It allows for PAL playback on NTC. Besides that, it also features 2x playback and 2x playback zoom that allows you to zoom into a selected area of the video during playback. In addition to that, it also allows for high speed playback in forward and reverse. The Sony GV-D800 can also perform Digital8 recording and playback by recording outstanding digital pictures and sounds on affordable Hi8 and 8mm tapes, as well as offers up to 500 lines of resolution with three times the colour bandwidth of VHS and significantly lower video noise. Not only that, it also has a built-in assemble editing function that allows users to connect the deck via an i.LINK or infra-red interface to any other i.LINK or infra-red device and select up to twenty different scenes from a video to have the deck automatically assemble those scenes together. There is also an S-video and composite input/output connections that offer superior video signal transfer from analogue devices. In addition to that, the Sony GV-D800 also incorporates a 4 inch Colour active matrix LCD screen that provides on the spot high quality viewing of your videos. The Sony GV-D800 is AC powered with supplied adapter/DC powered with optional InfoLithium battery to enjoy using your Sony GV-D800 in portable applications. There is also an i.LINK DV Input/ Output that provides bi-directional digital communication that carries digital audio, digital video and control signals to other i.LINK equipped video devices and a growing range of compatible PCs for dubbing and non-liner editing.
