Summary: Receiving it for my Birthday, I am very pleased with my new VCR. My previous VCR (a Sanyo) went on the fritz by everything I recorded looked like the vertical alignment was messed up. JVC wins here. The automatic tracking feature is a charm. Although the clicker is small, it works fine. Programmed recordings come out clear and the pause-recording feature works great for cutting out commercials! It also has great inputs for a satellite unit or a video game system.
Summary: It's the kind I use in my living room. I have a little story to tell, you you have to get comfortable. My recorder broke on my Philips Magnavox, and I had to use it to tape Three's Company that night. I used my JVC HR Series VCR, and it worked, and the picture was sharper, and the screen was bigger.
Summary: Aside from the shape and streamlined figure of it, I like the simple use of it, it's simple service menu, and the simplicity of fixing it. Its shape degraded its ranking, but otherwise it's fine.
Summary: The JVC HR series is a really good type of VCR. I have one and I love it. When you pause the movie it is clear. When you rewind and fast forward it shows where you are so you can time it just right. Good VCR.
