Summary: I thought it would look a little used but it looked a lot used, It has scratches on it and was not cleaned up very well. But the plus side it works great no problem and the remote I had with my old one works just great with this new one.
Summary: I've had this machine for over 2 months and I still can't get it to work! It's not the machine's fault or the seller ... but without a remote, I can't get it to work. Then I asked a neighbor of mine that is much handier with technical machines and after he hooked it up, it still would not work.
Summary: My parents bought me this VCR new as a gift many years ago. I take good care of all my electronics, never abuse them or anything. I have to say, this JVC VCR is a great one. I'd say it's probably 6-8 years old - I forget when I received it, but it still works and looks like new.
Summary: I bought this machine for my mother so she could play tapes that I made for her. It seemed to work fairly well for that purpose, although some tapes I had made on another, older and more expensive, JVC machine would not play properly on this one, and one had to manually adjust the tracking to get a...
Summary: I needed a stand alone VHS recorder to play old tapes for transfer to DVD's and record some programs on TV for later viewing. Service from Amazon was speedy and efficient and this recorder works great.
Summary: you all must have faulty models or early models or something, because this vcr is the best one i've ever had! the picture is amazing! the sound is very good. i like how you can switch the audio options from stereo to mono. this was good since i use this vcr on a mono speakered daewoo 13" tv.
Summary: Sure, it works, but I would rather just use it for playback and forget the recording part. The LED display doesn't show you nearly as much as with more expensive machines. You can't tell if you're recording SP or EP, for example. Just record something and see how fast goes on Rewind or Fast Forward.
Summary: Rewind failed when it was just out of (6 month)warranty. Fixing it is not an option because it cost more than the unit is worth. The remote only works with JVC TVs. Would not buy a JVC VCR again. Does anyone make a reliable VCR any more?
Summary: After about 30 days of use, this unit ate tapes and the timer did not work. After sending it away for 7 weeks to an authorized JVC service location, I got it back and the auto tracking (and the manual tracking for that matter) could not provide acceptable video output.
