Summary: I bought this mainly to pick up water the next time my basement flooded. Also bought the $40. Ridgid pump that attaches to the outlet to pump the water picked up outside. Will update this as soon as I use it for that purpose.
2 Stage Filtration is for Lead / HEPA, not regular shop vac
1 February 2014
Summary: I saw that two of the reviews disliked this vacuum over their regular shop vac. I understand, however you have to understand WHY it has the two stages. Regular shop vacs are fine for most dust, however EPA requires HEPA for lead (or other hazards, e.g. asbestos) remediation.
Summary: bought this vac for my dustless concrete floor grinder. ive used shopvacs and pulse vacs. this vac is a good bridge between the 2. the floor cleaning accessories are pretty handy and work quite well for my purpose.
Summary: This vacuum is more expensive, draws more power and delivers considerably less performance then lower end single stage rigid vacuums. I'm not sure what advantage the 2 stage system offers in light of this.
Summary: This wet/dry vac is a great vac for anyone working in an environment that needs a large capacity vac that can suck liquids or dry stuff. It is industrial strength, and has a large, 16-gallon tank.
