Summary: I had a Kemore canister vac (made by Panasonic) and only the fact that I could not order a new hose, forced me to buy a new one. The Kenmore was probably 25 years old! Anyway, the quality of the new one is slightly below the old Kenmore, but it is a very handy and capable vac. You won't go wrong with the Panasonic MC-CG917!
Summary: we've only used it a few times but it is much easier to manuever than the upright we had. It floats over carpets with little coaxing and has that turning flexibility that gets into tight spaces. It is much quieter than any we have had so far. One thing I am not happy about is the hose connection between the wand and the main body. It is very sensitive and when I pull on it it will cut out.
Summary: After using an upright for years I wanted to switch to a canister vacuum for my new hardwood floors. The carpet and hardwood attachments are so easy to switch and the carpet and floor options are right on the handle. I love the retractable cord and the fact that all the attachments have a place because I would probably lose them.
Summary: I tried my new Panasonic Vacuum yesterday and I was very happy with it. I have mostly laminate flooring and throw rugs. It did a great job on both. It rolled easily. I was very happy that it was so simple to detach the floor tool to add the different attachments. I would definitely recommend this both for floors and carpets.
Summary: It had very good suction. I put parsley flakes near the baseboard and it sucked them all up with the regular floor tool, not the crevice tool. I was uncomfortable with the part of the canister you raised to get to the attachments. It was 'soft'. I felt like it might break eventually even though they specified it was okay for that lid to come off if pulled up too hard. You can just put the lid back on. It was a bit heavier than I liked. All in all not a bad vacuum.
Summary: but it seems to be fine. I just have to get used to a new approach to cleaning as I can complete virtually all steps in one room before moving on and with my old upright I used two different machines in each room.
Summary: I am very pleased with the vacuum. Pick up is great, love the attachments, even though they don't stay on throughout cleaning. The vacuum bag is really impressive. I have an old electrolux 9000, the suction is better but, this vacuum is not as heavy and handles easily. We have purchased other vacuums and have had some sorrowful results....THIS VACUUM IS NOT A BAD DEAL AT ALL!
Summary: Many years ago I had a canister vacuum and loved it but more recently, I have had uprights. This vacuum has a good strong motor and is easy to manipulate with all the accessories. With the upright you cannot get underneath furniture but this Panasonic makes it easy. So far (I have only had it 3 weeks), it works very well and stores easily in a closet.
Very nice vacuum with A WHOLE LOT OF POWER. Do handle with kid gloves... Nice ergonomics!

Summary: This vacuum was just about what I expected. It has all of the features that I wanted in a unit, and it is REALLY powerful. It is my first canister vacuum to purchase (but I do have an ancient high end Electrolux canister vac that is really nice that was given to me, but one that is bulky to store and with its old power-head having a short in the hose making it hard to keep it spinning, etc).
Summary: We have used this product only a few times and certainly not enough to give a good judgment on it's reliability, performance, and durability. It is a nice looking unit and so far has performed as expected. It seems to have all that was advertised and all the features that were named in the company specification literature. Thus far, there is only one item that we find a little troublesome and that is the door of the compartment that contains the small hand tools.
