Summary: First all my vacs at home & in my 17 year cleaning business have been & are Panasonic. I have the MC-UL915 to use on a daily basis. I got this model because of the swivel head. Church I clean has replaced pews with chairs. Bad idea for cleaning. Anyway. First Saturday night I tried to use it I sat it down gently & the lid to bag fell completely off for no reason. Took me entire Sunday morning & many scratches on my legs to FINALLY get it back on.
Summary: The vacuum has been used only a little so far and seems to perform very well with respect to overall suction and the electrically powered carpet attachment. However, the small upholstery attachment powered by an air turbine is under-powered and has stopped running altogether a couple of times. I have cleaned it carefully and it is running again, but I do not believe it is up to the task of removing dog hair from furniture, auto carpet, etc.
... I think the performance of the vacuum is very good. However

Summary: I have had this vacuum for just over a year and overall I think the performance of the vacuum is very good. However, what I struggle with is the compartments/attachments. I had a kenmoore canister vac prior to this for 8 years, which I loved. Our repair man recommended we try the panasonic as a replacement. I find the tool compartment difficult to open in that it often doesn't release fully.
Summary: I ordered this vac to replace my very similar Kenmore. The product arrived quickly from Wal Mart, and had much more power than my 10 year old, still working, Kenmore. However, the vacuum head had a wheel with a terrible squeak. After trying to get through to Panasonic customer service, and never actually reaching a human, I packed up the vac and returned it to Wal Mart. I'll be reordering, and trying again.
Summary: There was a lot to like about this vacuum, but the unacceptably poor design of the filter bags made it practically useless at keeping the dust in the bag and out of the vacuum and its filters. The filter bags have no gasket to seal around the hose so some of the fine dust just gets sucked into the bag compartment and the filters. I only vacuumed a few times and there was already enough dust that had escaped the bag to discolor both the prefilter and HEPA filters.
Summary: After 2 mos the button on the telescopic wand broke. Contacted customer service and was denied a replacement part as they said it was a disposible part. No I said those are filters and bags. So then denied as its too old. No its less than 2 mos old. Then denied as cosmetic. Wrote a stern letter and sited the 1 year warranty and part was delivered quickly. Bottomline its a little tempermental and customer service on phone is worthless.
Summary: I've only had the vacuum for a week and there are some things I like and some things I don't. Pros - It has very good suction and picks up a lot of dirt. I love the cord rewind too. Its pretty easy to change to the mini power brush. And having the ability to switch from carpet to floor right on the handle is awesome. Cons - The edge cleaning on the power nozzle sucks! I have to pull the dirt from the wall edge to the line of the vacuum to get it picked up.
