Summary: Vacuum was made mainly of plastic and seemed if you opened the top to get the tools the top would break off after a few uses. I was very disappointed because I have had a panasonic cannister vacuum the worked for 30 years and then the part necessary to fix it was not available. This is the second panisonic cannister vacuum that I had to return. The first one I ordered as we attemped to attach the cord to the wand, a small piece of plastic broke off.
Summary: I purchase this vacuum from Incredivac through Amazon based on positive reviews. I have a very small apartment so I have not used the vacuum much at all. It died while I was using it, 2 months old. I contacted the seller for advice and he wrote back simply one line, just to get it repaired. He did not bother to apologize for sending me a defective product, nor did he bother to offer advice on finding a service center.

Summary: The suction and cleaning ability of this vacuum is good. However when the dust bag gets half full cleaning performance goes down considerably, even with the so touted Panasonic Optiflow. This problem is especially true when using the Panasonic Hepa Dust Bag. Additional problems with the Panasonic Optiflow, it will pull on dust bag causing hole to miss align at the canister hose opening causing dirt dust and debris to enter throughout the vacuum eventually destroying the...
Summary: I received this vacuum and it did not work. It was defective. The company I purchased it from will not return it and Amazon will not do anything about it either. So I am out almost $300 with a vacuum that doesn't work. This experience has been a nightmare and I feel cheated. Antonline, Amazon and Panasonic have not been helpful at all. Steer clear.
Summary: I bought this vacuum based on other buyers' reviews, but today I received an email from Panasonic, saying I'd better buy an extended warranty because twenty per cent of these units fail. Not a good track record. Now I'm thinking I should return it. If it has known problems, why don't they change the design?

Summary: The vacuum itself is good, I have no complaints. But less than 6 months after purchase, the telescoping mechanism on the floor cleaning attachment just broke. It wasn't dropped or treated roughly at all, I was just pushing it over a wood floor (no resistance whatsoever) and it just snapped, and now it only telescopes. This renders the device useless- as soon as you move it, it just slides up and down. I emailed Panasonic, and they wrote back and told me to call parts.
Summary: This is the second order I make of this product and both have been faulty. The first one that wand didn't lock in the floor tool. This one's hood does not close. This talks pretty bad of panasonic!... I was so happy for this purchase at first as it had excellent reviews at consumer reports and here at amazon, but it seems that they have changed their manufaturer as it is so incredible that both of the 2 vacuum they have sent me has had a defect!!...
This product and the company sucks! Don't buy from Panasonic.

Summary: I bought this vacuum last year and within less than 8 month the piece that connects the canister to the hose, broke into two pieces. The electrical wire is showing significant wear and tear also. I called Panasonic and explained to them aout these defects since the unit was under warranty. They told me they only have one regional representative and that was in Orange County!
Read reviews and choose wisely before purchasing this Panasonic Canister Vac.

Summary: I have owned this vacuum for 1.5 years. I am an upright vacuum cleaner owner with a Makita long handle lithium ion hand vac (for the tight and low spaces) in addition to this canister, I can say that I absolutely HATE this canister vac. I can't wait for it to break, but then I would have to purchase another for it's replacement and I don't have the funds. I needed a second vac for the rest of the home.
Summary: Vacuum cleaner stinks. Not powerful. Broke within 2 months of light use. Will not turn on at all. Called Panasonic for support and they wanted me to drive 2.5 hours to drop off for repair. I don't want to repair a product that needs to be fixed within 60 days. Spent days waiting for supervisor to call me back....never happened. On second attempt I called for supervisor, spent more than an HOUR on hold!
