Summary: I bought this vacuum to run when I'm at work. I have five dogs and foster several cats for the local animal rescue and I have to vacuum about three or four times a week because of the pet hair. I vacuum the house first and then ran the Neato after doing the "new battery" steps and letting it charge for 24 hours. It ran for about a half hour before I got a brush clogged error.
Summary: The current firmware version is 3.4--mine shipped in January with 3.2. I've experienced a lot of issues with the Neato not returning to the charging station properly, even with a brand new battery, and this reportedly addresses this issues. Here is the text from the web page: "Software Release 3.4 offers improvements for your Neato Robot Vacuum including improved battery management resulting in improved battery life and longer cleaning cycles in some environments.
Cost (not cheap but definitely a better value over Rumba model)
M. Klauss "KColorado", Amazon
6 August 2014
Summary: PROS: Cost (not cheap but definitely a better value over Rumba model), Intelligent navigation, Ease of programming, Strong suction, Goes back to where it left off if its not done cleaning and needs a charge, cleans under the bed and some of my other furniture that I couldn’t do with my hand-vac. CONS: Dust collector needs frequent emptying, somewhat taller than my kitchen cabinet baseboards making it impossible to clean to the edge.
Summary: Worked for two months, then malfunctioned -- giving me Error Codes 0002 and 0005. Contacted Neato for a replacement. Replacement unit lasted about three months before the screen died. Both the original and replacement units would frequently get lost in the apartment when trying to dock -- often trying to find it's way to the docking station (across the room) through the area under the dishwasher or the kitchen cabinets, or my feet, if I were sitting at the kitchen table.
Summary: I ordered this Neato XV Sig Pro to replace an earlier Neato version that had given roughly two years of stellar service before suddenly dying. Out of the box this product wouldn't charge at all. It gave an error message (#0002) indicating some problem with the battery. So I returned it to Amazon for a replacement. The replacement came after about a week and had exactly the same problem.
Exceedingly intelligent for a consumer product with some caveats

7 July 2014
Summary: I got this vacuum maybe 1 month ago as of this writing and it exceeded all of my expectations for intelligence for a consumer product. + It intelligently navigates around my tables/chairs/furniture + It is smart enough to pick up where it left off between charges. + You will notice the first few cleanings nearly, if not totally, fill the dust bin.
Horrible! Those vacuum cleaners never work the way expected
2 July 2014
Summary: Horrible! Those vacuum cleaners never work the way expected. It has software issues that may not appear at first but later you will be spending hours and hours trying to figure out why is that: 'brush is stuck' or 'bumper is stuck'. Also when I returned it they charged me a Restocking Fee Refund Deduction: ($89.80), just because it was 35 days not 30 after I first got it. Don't waste your money and time, just use your regular vacuum cleaner!!!
Summary: The Neato is great and does a great job of vacuuming my house. It is fairly loud and can sound like most conventional vacuums, but that is something that can't be avoided since it is doing its job. My gripe with this unit is that in the past few days (I've only had it for about 30 days) the dust bin cannot stay in place. The dust bin always pops out and my unit cannot be used effectively as it always stops to complain about the loose dust bin.
Excerpt: This product is awesome. Gets my entire floor clean in a 4 bedroom home with living room and den! I have sheltie that sheds like crazy and the neato gets it all even under my furniture. My friends watch in amazement as it circles the legs of my furniture without missing a spot!
