Practically unfunctional wheels and short hose

average joe, Amazon
14 June 2012
  • Summary: Not happy with this vacuum -- incredibly poor design -- a couple things that aren't obvious until you use it. 1) Wheels are ridiculously small -- this thing cannot even roll over its own power cord! 2) The hose is only about 5 feet long -- way too short -- need to constantly yank on this thing to cover even a small area -- and with the tiny wheels that come to a halt when it inevitably runs into its own cord, it's a real, and unnecessary, pain to vacuum with this.

Too heavy

Amazon Customer, Amazon
21 June 2011
  • Summary: This vacuum has great suction and pickup, however it is VERY heavy, so if you have arthritis, back problems, autoimmune disease or heart trouble don't even think about ordering this very heavy machine. It is also extremely expensive, and so complex that Hubby and I have to re-read the instructions every time we use it. I thought that I'd be vacuuming our floors more often with this machine, but I am using it less because I dread hauling it out and moving it around.

Miele vs Dyson

The Honest Reviewer, Amazon
14 August 2010
  • Summary: I have been a Dyson user for years. I have the Hepa filters, the top of the line Dyson for pets. I have 2 cats, 1 wife and a daughter who all shed. I'm sick of hair stuck to me, the furniture, my clothes, my shoes....arrrgghhh! Research and lots more research kept me coming back to Miele. Then I found out you have to go to a store because the prices are fixed, so what's the point of buying online?

A personal big mistake

Mauro Chiappe, Amazon
27 July 2010
  • Summary: I bought it two years ago to replace a cheaper Miele that was still working and luckily did not throw away. It is good for carpeting and if you have a big house and no need to store things under the beds or sofas. Make sure that you check the area to clean BEFORE you start vacuumimg. Pick up everything that is more than 1/25th of a inch long like pencils, pins, paper pieces, toothpicks etc.

Overheat problem was serious.

M. Choi "Brandon", Amazon
15 July 2010
  • Summary: I loved all aspect of the vacuum machine except overheat problem. Whenever I used it, it lasted only about 15 min and overheated and then stopped. So I returned this machine to Amazon. I am gonna buy a new one from a local store to see if the problem occurs again. If not, there is no reason I do not have it.

Easy on the Back with the Added Bonus of Being Quiet...

delicateflower152, Amazon
28 January 2010
  • Summary: As I approach the "new 40," I am discovering my lower back does not handle using an upright vacuum as painlessly as it formerly did. For the past two years, I have researched and read in an attempt to find a canister vacuum which I might actually like and which would not cause my lower back to ache.

Very Good but not perfect

I.Peters, Amazon
23 August 2009
  • Summary: I bought this vacuum because I had gotten more than tired of having to replace my main vacuum every 2 years or so. Being originally from Germany, I was very familiar with the Miele brand and liked their excellent reputation. Here are some points with regards to the Capricorn: The Good: 1. Excellent suction. I am not exaggerating when I say that my carpets look much cleaner than before after having used this vacuum on them.

Miele Succeeds Again - For a Price

lookingforwd, epinions.com
14 April 2009
  • Summary: If you can afford it, buy it. A simple decision you may need to justify, but Miele options exist slightly down from this model that could ease the blow.
  • Pros: An unapologetic winner of high-end, luxury performance that rewards in every way you might expect.
  • Cons: On-handle button quibble; lying about how much I paid so people don't scoff at me.
