Summary: I've owned this machine for well over a year now. As the title of my review says, the machine is heavy and has powerful suction. May be too heavy for some women carrying up and down stairs. When used in it's upright position it does excellent work. The pet turbine tool is powered by a separate electronic power source from a switch at the top right hand side.
Easy to use and very versatile, with a few quibbles

Summary: OK, this is going to be somewhat complicated, because the vacuum cleaner itself is somewhat complicated. It tries to be a combination of both an upright and a canister vacuum by use of a removable "wand," which forms the backbone of the vacuum. UPRIGHT MODE: When you use it as an upright, it works pretty darn well. It removed an amazing amount of grit and other debris from my carpet that my last vacuum completely failed to remove.
Summary: After a year and a half, the brush on this unit stopped spinning. I took it to a local vacuum repair shop that found the control board was bad. LG does not sell this part as a replacement. We're now in the process of contacting LG customer service. I have a Kenmore cansister vacuum for 12 years now that is better than this one. I just ordered another Kenmore today to replace this LG. I would not recommend this vacuum.
Summary: I just love this vacuum. Its the best edge cleaning vacuum I have ever used and I mean without the attachments. After returning two cheaper vacuums, I decided to spend a little more money and bought this LUV300 and it was money well spent. I have noticed I dont have to dust as much in my house because its contained in the container. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats so picking up pet hair was important and it does the job very well. If I could change one thing....
Summary: I bought this vacuum in June 2011 because we have 2 dogs, 2 children & a lot of dust in our home. This vacuum is amazing!! Pros: Picks up just about anything! Cons: Motor has blown for a 2nd time in less than 2 years. Was told it is not a common problem though.
Summary: +This vacuum has been working well for over 2 years. In my opinion it has more than enough suction. In fact the suction is so strong, even when set to highest mounting above the floor, it can be difficult to move. I actually have to fight the suction to push the vacuum across carpeting. That is what I wanted though. +Filter works well. The kompressor compartment is very handy. You can load a lot of debris in that thing. Easy to remove and dump debris out.
Summary: I purchased this in January of 2011 and have had a lot of time to work with it. I have found that some of the concerns of the 1 star ratings can be cleared up pretty quickly with simple maintenance -- cleaning the filters at the top of the canister and the HEPA filter at the bottom. Cleaning/washing out the canister, cleaning/washing out the hose, etc. During the time I've had it, the major problem has been some items getting stuck in the hose or elsewhere.
Summary: It worked great the first week. I have kids, crumbs, a wood stove...after a week, it lost suction. My husband has to clean out the filters often and it doesn't even pick up big crumbs. I hate it. It's heavy, the hose attachment doesn't even suck things up from the stairs... just awful.
Summary: I was going to buy a dyson. But this vaccuum had great reviews so I bought it. Yes it is quiet and good for allergens but it gets plugged up and over heats frequently. It is big and clunky and it hard to manuver. It has great storage capacity and doesn't need dumped in the middle of vaccumming like my last one.
Summary: We have had this vacuum for about a month and vacuum weekly in a three level house. We had a hoover wind tunnel and it never did a great job with small dirt. The LG did as other reviews say . . . after vacuuming with my old vac and then going over the same rooms with the LG as a test immediately afterwards. I was filling the container with just as much dirt as the hoover did representing how much the hoover was not picking up.
