Summary: It's very good for maintenance purposes, but certainly cannot replace your upright or canister vacuum cleaners. If you have a large area that needs serious cleaning, like dogs hair under the couch, the iRobot can be very inefficient, in the way that the dust bin is too small and for a 300 sf room...
Summary: I LOVE THIS THING! Now that we got that out of the way, there are a few things about this that almost made me return it. First of, we put this on our main level. The main level has our kitchen (which is hard wood), and dinning room/Family room (Carpet). We have 2 pets (cat and dog).
Summary: We recently purchased these items and installed them in our 770 series Roomba. Thus far, they seem to work well and haven't caused any problems with the proper running of the unit. That's all I can ask for.
Summary: I've had my Roomba for about a month and so far I am really liking it. I have a very large downstairs area and got the 780 for the lighthouse features but so far have not needed them (plus I don't have C batteries. C Batteries? Really?).
Summary: Very happy with my 780. Had it about a month now and I have it set to run 3 times a week. I have an apartment with all hardwood floors. They have NEVER been so clean, especially in the summer with my cat shedding!
Summary: I remember when these first came out I thought it was a great idea but knew it would have some kinks that would have to be worked out. It's been years so thought I would give it a try. It's pretty good but not perfect yet. You have to block off more areas than would seem necessary.
