Summary: I have only had my Roomba for a week, but it seems to do everything as expected. I wondered about how noisy it would be, but quieter than my husband's razor! It does well going around chair legs too.
Summary: It say's it's for pets, but my dog doesn't really see the benefit. I read the instructions to him, but he found his crotch more interesting. He was a bit impatient and didn't want to wait for it to fully charge, but I persuaded him that it would be worth it. The small buttons are difficult for him to manipulate, and his lack of opposable thumbs makes removing the dust bin nearly impossible.
Summary: Bought this when it was on sale as my old 560 was like one of the androids in Star wars repair shop, needing parts and looking worse for wear. My 560 was not programmable like this 650 so that nice, but i was impressed how they have updated this product in the 6 years since i last bought one. This thing goes after the dirt in tough places like a dog trying to get its toy from underneath the couch !!! Seems much smarter than my 560 also, faster and quieter.
Summary: There are lots of revues for all the different models that iRobot markets. I am not going to repeat what others have said over and over again. My opinion is to find the one that sounds good and BUY IT! I am a very picky buyer. But I also have a dog that explodes hair as she walks across the room. See picture that I uploaded.
Summary: Besides being a kick in the pants to watch, this thing does an amazingly good job. It handles our environment excellently, moving over area rugs, hardwood floors and carpeting. It vacuums under the bed, under our furniture and under the clothing in our closet without missing a beat. An added benefit is it doesn't scare the bejesus out of the cat like that "soul sucking" Dyson.
Summary: We've had this for a week and scheduled it to run every day last week after my wife and I left for work. We have about 2000 square feet of hardwood downstairs that felt dirty the whole week after sweeping on Sundays. The Roomba, which arrived on Sunday luckily, worked right out of the box but I restrained myself from using it and let it charge fully, which took about an hour for the light to go from orange to green.
Summary: I have only had the Roomba 650 for a few weeks. And I bought it after my Neato Robotics XV-21 robot vac died and could not be repaired. The Roomba does not use the same room mapping feature as the XV-21, and it seems to be guided mostly by bumping along the walls and furniture and turning until it finds a clear path. It does not navigage over throw rugs as well as the XV-21 and doesn't seem to have as much suction.
Summary: Here's why: it is noisier than you'd like. It does a semi-job; it doesn't get corners or around chair legs and of course doesn't move anything. It complains. Maybe not about the same stuff, but it doesn't like getting stuck or waylaid by an errant dangly something. Therefore you can't program it to do the work while you are gone. It may start, but will quit because of something. It does have energy to do the house, but not the attention span. Sections will be missed.
Summary: I've been using Roomba for a while in different locations in my house, and I'm pretty dissatisfied. It does pick up a lot of crud. I bought this model because it was recommended for pet hair, and it picks up quite a bit, on average. However, the "eye" on top tends to get tunnel vision. If an obstacle is directly in front of it, it cleverly slows down and lightly taps the object, then either turns around or swivels around it.
