Summary: We tried a Neato Robotics XV 21 for pets and allergies. When it worked it was nice. However, reviews were right, quality control sporadic, had it replaced 4 times while under warrantee, the last unit worked for 6 months and stopped 2 months after the warrantee expired. Neato suggested their designated repair site and it was a nightmare. Long song and dance to be told it showed water damage and corroded contacts. Hey folks! it's humid here!
Summary: I had this in Australia and it's the first thing I bought when I moved to the US. It's easy to use, picks up as much as my vacuum cleaner and as far as I am concerned is a must have when you have pets. I use it every day.
Summary: Effective sweeper, reasonably efficient in coverage pattern, easy to clean brush mechanism. The side sweeper is a simple but helpful addition to the main brush action. The price range is reasonable for a device that has four guidance sensors that seem to take it on an intelligent route. I don't have pets, but the Roomba does a first rate job on cleaning my carpets of debris left by humans. .
Summary: Wanted a Roomba FOREVER. Finally ordered this model. Wasn't aware that it lacks the programming feature, but after a few days I didn't even care. I would never use it, and here why: Sometimes I leave soda cans etc on the floor in the living room or a bag of garbage by the front door, and not having the programming gives me time to pick everything up before I run the vacuum.
Summary: This is our 7th Roomba in 9 years. Sounds like they must not last, eh? Well, we have 2 dogs, 2 cats and a parrot with copious dander. Thus, we keep at least one Roomba running 8 - 12 hours a day. Seriously. So, we've just worn out the 400 series. We have the 630 and the 650. Both are huge improvements over earlier models. The motor and inner electronics are now fully encased, making it harder for hair, dust, etc. to clog up the works.
