THE MOST UNIQUE AND USABLE VACUUM EVER INVENTED...LIKE THE EDSEL, WAS AHEAD OF IT'S TIME

bclayman "appliance buff", Amazon
20 December 2010
  • Summary: THE FOLLOWING REVIEW WAS WRITTEN 5/21/07 ABOUT THE U9145-900 "Z 700" MODEL AND I STILL FEEL THE SAME WAY! IN FACT, I JUST BOUGHT A U9125-900 "Z 400" A FEW WEEKS AGO AND WILL KEEP THAT ONE UNTIL I NEED IT IN THE FUTURE. I have been an appliance buff since I was a kid. I bought my Mom the top of the line Hoover Celebrity Canister vacuum back in the early 80s and used it often.

Couldn't live without it

Roxanne M, Amazon
14 June 2010
  • Summary: My fiance and I have had this for about 3 years, and I think it's wonderful. It has a few cons, but the pros blow them away, at least for me. PROS: ~ The suction feels good and strong; I've never had a problem with it leaving anything behind. The head is nice and wide, and it's also flat enough to go under some furniture. ~ The canister is easy to remove, empty, and replace.

interesting, powerful, somewhat noisy, heavy, wierd, fragile

Amazon Customer, Amazon
30 May 2010
  • Summary: While noisy, it's less noisy than the one it replaced. It's also odd beyond belief. At first, it was always folding up on me, leading to frustration bordering on rage. It doesn't do that any more; perhaps I was subconsciously trained. Why was it designed to fold up anyway? I've never actually wanted to do that. At the moment the floor head isn't picking up anything even though I've disassembled it and cleaned it.

Excellent

Patrick H "Patrick H", Amazon
27 August 2009
  • Summary: Ok, I've gotta say, this vacuum is amazing. My wife and I purchased this vac at a local home improment store shortly after getting engaged and buying our first house. This vac has withstood more use and work in 1 year than most vacs would go through in about 5 years and never once has it let us down. We have 4 cats in a house that is only about 1200 sq ft., so you can only imagaine how many times a week we have to use this thing.

I liked it when it worked

bensmom, Amazon
30 July 2009
  • Summary: We bought this vacuum for the infamous $99 price everyone else seems to have bought it for. I really liked it when it worked. The broad head rocked as I felt I could cover a lot of ground with one sweep. I liked the power and suction. It clogged a couple times, but was fairly easy to clean. I loved the telescoping wand and long hose. Unfortunately the lifetime filter on mine did not clean itself like advertised and I have to get a new one.

Wait for the next model

T. Blankenship, Amazon
27 July 2009
  • Summary: I bought this thinking I would save space and money buying just one vacuum for my hard wood and carpeted floors. I tend to go through vacuums quickly (3 vacuums in 3 years) but Hoover is always highly rated so I thought this would be a good choice. It is cool and new but it isn't proven.

Not too good!!

RJLed, Amazon
23 July 2009
  • Summary: The bucket is too small and make a mess every time we empty it. The screen in the bucket breaks easily and we've had to special order it twice (takes three weeks to arrive). Don't waste your money!!!

Everything You Never Asked for in a Vacuum Cleaner

Mark E. Sanders, Amazon
28 June 2009
  • Summary: I purchased the Hoover "Z" Bagless a few months ago, based on little other than how cool it looked sitting there in my local home supply store. The price, at $99.00 new in the box, was too tempting to resist. I figured if it delivered on half the amazing benefits touted on the package, I'd be delighted. Owning a house with beige wall-to-wall carpet demands quite the upkeep. The first thing I noticed unpacking it is the heft. It is no lightweight.

28 May 2009
  • Summary: Bought for $100 bucks at Home Depot. The idea is good, sort of a hybrid between canister and upright....but: 1. it sticks when motor is running 2. cord is unfortunately not spring loaded and I hated this 3. its heavy 4. its very difficult to fully extend to upright position 5. hose finally broke, but I fixed it 6. the mechanisms then let's u use it as upright vacuum cleaner broke 7.
