Hose Clogs, HEPA filter clogs and is hard to clean
6 July 2013
Summary: This vacuum actually worked for several months of very light use. Then when tasked with some heavy cleaning, the hose clogged, and so did the HEPA filter - it clogged so badly that the suction dropped to almost nothing. The HEPA filter is a "lifetime" filter that is not designed to be removed by the user. This vacuum will last you a lifetime if you are planning a very short life. Buy it if it's on your "bucket list." Otherwise, avoid it!!!!
Summary: The U8351-900 is the biggest mistake you can make when buying a vaccuum cleaner. The Hepa Filter is a joke. We use our Red Devil to clean the filter. Now the on-off switch has failed. The suction in the hose is next to nothing. The front exhaust blows the dirt in front of the machine. And, it's the heaviest vaccuum we have ever bought. We kept our Windtunnel but now it failed. HOOVER, KEEP YOUR JUNK!!!!!!!!
Summary: My husband & I bought this vacuum after our wedding in September 2009. It cost over $300. Within a few uses, it seemed to lose all its powers of suction. I had to go over the same spots four or five times before they looked "acceptable," never mind actually being clean. I took it to be repaired and paid $50 for it to be unclogged, but it still wouldn't suck things up. Jobs that should have taken 10 minutes were taking me upwards of half an hour.
Summary: This is one of the worst vacuums I've ever owned. Dirt spills every time you empty the dirt cup, no matter what you do to avoid it. So you have to clean the vac and the floor around it each time. Also, the "lifetime" belt is a bunch of BS. Mine is less than a year old and it's already stretched out so that the beater brush doesn't turn.
Yes, all the reviews are true. This TRULY is a flawed design in more ways than one

Summary: This thing sucks for these reasons... 1. The self cleaning filter doesn't work AT ALL. It clogs after only a few uses, and turns this thing into a nasty smelling, dust spewing beast. I think this thing actually creates more dust than it picks up. 2. This thing is WAY to heavy. A vacuum cleaner that is this heavy at least ought to be a decent performer, but its not. 3.
Summary: I really can not say that this is the best vacuum for the price on the market because I haven't tried all of them, but it does do a very good job. It is true that the vacuum is hard to push, but only on the low carpet setting. However, I don't mind pushing a little bit hard to clean a few of my area rugs that are really low. I does do a wonderfull job anyway. its not like you have to push it hard in the same areas over and over again.
If I could give it "0" stars, I would... a terrible machine!

Summary: In short, this vacuum cleaner is poorly designed and is a pain to use, and for all that effort it does not even clean that well. If this is enough to spare you spending $300, great; if not, read on: Let me start by saying that I have pets and am a bit of a neat-freak because of that; I commonly vacuum every-other-day, so a good vacuum is a valuable thing to me.
Summary: HEPA filter clogs extremely easy and stops. This causes the suction power to decrease dramatically. We have a very clean home with one cat. The hair and dust clogs the filter and causes it to stop spinning. This spinning feature is the "self-cleaning" feature the HEPA filter has. Unfortunately when it stops spinning the filter clogs and the suction power decreases.
