Summary: As a senior citizen with arthritis, knee and back problems, I have to have a self-propelled vacuum cleaner. But today, the makers have sacrificed that capacity for slightly reduced weight. The Hoover is the only SP model I could find for sale. Since I have used this model for many, many years, the choice was simple and Walmart had the best combination of price, free shipping, and reliability.
Excerpt: So far, so good, at 3 weeks of use. We are a small school and use it for downstairs classrooms. It does a great job, has much better suction than the bagless windtunnel vacuums. Gave it 4 stars only, because concerned about durability with so many plastic parts, its as noisy as the bagless windtunnels, and its just as heavy. But it is dependable and our cleaning lady loves it over the bagless windtunnel. We'll see how it stands the test of time.
Excerpt: Bought for relative, I have central vac and haven't had hand held vac for 14yrs. This vac is a lot noisier than vac's that I used years ago, but a lot more powerful, and different design. I used it first on my floors to make sure it worked before giving it to the new owner. Nice job, very impressed with suction and picking up dog and cat hair. Edge cleaning good too. Loved the power assist. Tried it ON and OFF. Leave it ON.
Pros: Easy To Empty, Easy to Use, Efficient, Long Power Cord, Power Assist Useful, Powerful/Good Suction
Excerpt: My wife always comments on how nice the self-propelled action is - I like it, too. Our old vacuum still does a good job but the increased suction on this one is surprising. I like how well it cleans on the sides up close to the wall, too. I am used to vacuums smelling from the dust that goes through them. This must have excellent filters because there is none of that.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy to Use, Great Suction, Hose Is Longer Than Expec, Long cord, Love The Self Propell, No Dust Smell, Quality Construction
Cons: Bags Are Not Cheap, Could Be Less Noisy, Could Be Lighter
Excerpt: So far appears to be a good vacuum. The biggest con is that I bought it for brand new thick and high carpet, and the highest adjustment is not high enough. Therefore I am using it downstairs on my wood floors. So far, it appears to work well, however, the vacuum is also a little heavy so you don't want to need to lift it too much.
Excerpt: Had been without a vacuum for several weeks and I was very impressed how this vacuum handled some very dirty carpets. The dirt indicator was cool and I feel very accurate in indicating that an area was not yet clean. Have used it for about a month now and am very happy so far.
