Buy ear plugs. Duct tape the attachments in place. Account for all small pets once you turn it off.

Summary: Vacuum is incredibly loud. I suppose I should have guessed "WindTunnel" would need ear plugs to run. Cheaply made. Handle was supposed to slide in, snap and tighten screws. NOPE! Have to wiggle, push, pull, cuss and then tighten screws. Must be aligned exactly. Doesn't snap at all.
Summary: Was great for year or two. Have replaced moving parts to try to return performance but failed to do so. If u read critical reviews carefully of all brands of vacuums u will discover there is really no good one. Really frustrating.
Design changes have reduced the quality of this vacuum

Summary: This vacuum is a good value, but its quality, in my opinion, has been diminished by design changes in the last few years. I bought my first one about seven years ago, and I would have given that one 5 stars.
Summary: Staples did everything right. this is my second one. The first one was returned. It soundeds like an old car ready to break down and the light indicating dirt pick up would not work. Staples took care of it and sent me a new one.Naturally, the old one was sent back at no charge.
Excerpt: I bought the Hoover WindTunnel Bagged Upright (with the Hepa filter) about 6 months ago. You put it together yourself, which is not too difficult. The quality of the plastic seems kinda cheap. I turned the self-propelled feature on, then tried to turn it off, and I couldn't.
Pros: Good value for the money, especially since there's a Hepa filter on it.
Cons: Short hose. Self-propelled feature won't turn off once you turn it on.
Summary: We waited to receive the vacuum with anticipation, since it was well rated by consumer reports. We are also previous Hoover owners and were pleased in the past. My complaint is not with Hoover but more with Amazon.
Summary: I bought this vacuum mainly for the self-propelled feature. My wife has some medical issues which causes pain in her arms, and our old vacuum was just too difficult for her to use. We got the Hoover U6485-900, and it works as advertised.
