Summary: THIS VACUMN DID A GOOD JOB AS FOR PICKING UP PILE ON MY THICK CARPET....BUT AFTER ABOUT 5 MINS IT STARTED TO MAKE A SCREAMING-LIKE NOISE AND STARTED TO SMELL LIKE SOMETHING WAS BURNING. IN FACT IT SMELLED LIKE BACON.
Excerpt: Poor design on tools, Great vacuum suction is all the pros I give this machine.I am dissapointed with the design, tools fall off while vacuuming. the power switch should be first by the handle, not where the self propel is at.
Summary: So frustrated. I did all the research and settle on this vacuum. Seems like there isn't a great, reasonable vacuum on the market. But this was as close as it got. It arrived with the self-propel feature not working and smelled like burning rubber when I turned it on. Called Hoover.
Summary: Oh Hoover Windtunnel, how do I hate thee? Let me count the ways: 1) You weigh a ton. I'm a tall, strong, physically-fit gal, and I resent hauling you up and down the stairs with a passion; 2) You're clumsy and cumbersome.
WAS READY TO BE PLEASED - THOROUGHLY DISAPPOINTED!!!
TRANQUIL IN NEW JERSEY, Amazon
10 September 2010
Summary: Well, where does one start, I mean, after all...it's just a vacuum cleaner for gosh sakes!! My wife and I have had many vacuums and after the last one, we did what everyone does, researched the web and came up with this Hoover vacuum. It was well reviewed (Consumers Report, etc.) - but with issues.
Summary: As a long time buyer on Amazon.com I believe this is the first time I have written a review. I am motivated to write about the Hoover U6485-900 due to complete disappointment in the quality of the product. Received it today. Inoperable after 5 minutes. And already on the way back to Amazon.
Summary: I'm going tomorrow to return my 3rd Hoover Windtunnel vacuum, thankfully I bought it at a warehouse club. This vacuum does have a strong motor, and it's suction is equally strong HOWEVER the unit's self-propel feature is a disaster and the height adjustment is quite poor.
