Summary: Power cord does not pull out easily. First use, pulled out all the way and the vaccumm shut off. Had to take in for repair. Coverered under warranty. SHould have taken that as a omen. Rolls hard on carpet. The hose crimps and is cheaply made. The power head is not smooth flowing. I have nothing good to say about this vacuum.
Summary: had to replace the front spinner motor after one year $95. not a good vacuum if you have a lot of girls with hair living in your house. i constantly have to take it apart and cut the hair out.
Summary: Power head fell over and cracked where it connects to the hose right off. Fixed with electrical tape. After 6 uses it died. I talked to "Customer Service" for 5 minutes and was put on hold. 20 minutes later the phone system hung up on me. Closest authorized service center was 1 and 1/2 hours away. It took over a month + $50 in fuel before we got it back. It has worked for a whole month after everything electrical was replaced. 5/4/14 update---lost suction.
Summary: I should have listened to reviews that said this unit loses power after a while. I have short pile carpeting with short haired dogs that shed only moderately yet this vacuum can not pull the hair out of the carpet. It worked better when it was brand new but after just a few uses I noticed it was leaving more behind than what it was picking up. It lost power after just a few weeks.
Summary: I bought this vacuum as a Christmas gift for my son. The first time he used it the vacuum worked great. The second time it died after 10 minutes of vacuuming. Hoover finally offered to send a new one. Keeping fingers crossed!
Summary: Pros: The vacuum suction is really strong and there is no problem with dirt pick up. 5 stars for that. Not too heavy. BUT BUT BUT Cons: I noticed that the cord got really hot when I used the head for vacuum cleaning. The vacuum would just turn right off. I realized that I can't use the vacuum with that on for too long. I was really disappointed because yes it is powerful, but the vacuum needs to be turned off every couple of minutes in fear of over heating.
