  • Summary: Great suction power and flexibility. Movable visor for doing stair risers and upholstery is a brilliant stroke. One Complaint: should be manufactured so you can change a broken belt drive yourself.

  • Summary: I was primarily looking for an easy, portable vacuum to pick up cat hair on the couch and do light vacuuming on the stairs. This vacuum is great! It's not wireless, but I have had many rechargeable vacuums and they never last very long as their batteries tend to lose strength over time. This vacuum is a little heavier than I thought it would be, but not unmanageable. I like the vacuum hose feature and the easy cleaning of the filter.

  • Summary: Good suction but a little heavy. Works better than the Shark it replaced but heavier and harder to clean the filter.

  • Summary: Pros: Great suction and it is what I expected at the price point of $34.65 plus tax Cons: If vacuuming in a forward direction (opposite of the rototiller bushes), it is NOT a smooth transition. Cons: The belt cannot be replaced. Additional info: I've used the vac for about a month. With the aforementioned, It's a great mini-vac for the price.

  • Summary: At first I was going to return it because I tried to use it to clean cat hair from a down comforter & it got stuck & started to suck in the blanket. After thinking about it I realized the problem was because it has VERY STRONG suction. I tried it again without the brush roll on & it sucked up all the hair smoothly. The brush roll works for picking up on carpeting. Not needed for furniture & such. Very good machine.

Great handheld vacuum

  • Excerpt: I live in a small apartment with fake wood floors and dog that sheds a lot. I sweep the floors with a broom, then vacuum up the pile with this -- it works well the flat smooth surface. I can also use the hose to get into nooks and crannies that the broom won't reach. I use this on my small squares of carpet, and my furniture, as well -- the rolling brush does much better than suction alone at getting the dog hairs out of the fabrics and carpet.

Lightweight, yet efficient!

  • Excerpt: This vacuum is very handy, especially in small spaces and is very lightweight. My room is at the very top of my house, and I have had to use larger vacuums to pick up the dirt and tiny crumbs on the floor until I used this vacuum, which is a lot lighter than carrying a heavy vacuum up the stairs. I cleaned up my side of the room upstairs a few months ago and using this vacuum, it made the carpet look as if it was never dirty!

Eureka 71AV Bagless Handheld Vacuum Wish it Were Cordless

  • Excerpt: This is a great little vacuum that is surprisingly strong for its size. Although I would prefer that it be cordless (which would definitely affect its powerful suction), I do appreciate the fact that it has such a long cord. I can plug it in the hallway and vacuum out my car in the garage without a problem. I have two small kids, so my car is usually a MESS - cracker crumbs everywhere!

Great for carpeted stairs!

shigadeyo, Viewpoints

  • Excerpt: Have a carpeted stairway in the house?  If so, the Eureka ** 71AV Bagless Handheld Vacuum** is truly indispensible!  Why bother trying to carry and move heavy, full-sized vacuums up and down the stairs while trying to sweep them?  That is dangerous, awkward, and too much work.  While it may seem like having yet another vacuum in the house for a specific task seems like a pain, your back and stairway will appreciate the ease of use and strong suction power of this...
