Dyson DC44 Animal

Vaccum Cleaner Advisor
12 November 2012
  • Conclusion: The Dyson DC44 Animal is Dyson’s latest stick/handheld vacuum cleaner and it is essentially an upgraded Dyson DC35 Digital Slim.  Upgrades include a more powerful floor tool, increased run time and a motorized tool for pulling up pet hair.  Consumers praise the vacuum for its strong suction and versatility but most also feel that it is quite expensive. This cordless, battery operated vacuum uses root cyclone technology.
  • Pros: Easy to use, Powerful, Convenient (no need to pull out the big vacuum for smaller jobs), Lightweight, Better than the DC35 on pet hair and carpet
  • Cons: Easy to use, Powerful, Convenient (no need to pull out the big vacuum for smaller jobs), Lightweight, Better than the DC35 on pet hair and carpet

Expert Review

  • Conclusion: Limited runtime, a small capacity dustbin, and a refusal to run when connected to the mains: These would all be deal-breakers for most home help gadgets, but the very nature of the Dyson DC44 neatly sidesteps them. It’s so much fun to use, and so rewarding after you’ve done so, you’ll find yourself reaching for it more often. Therefore, doing fewer large-scale cleans.
  • Pros: Of course you hate cleaning. Even as you size up your next high-tech dust-gobbler, the prospect of cleaning the house leaves your eyes rolling and your mind wandering. But stop right there: the Dyson DC44 Animal will change your ways. The first time the Dyson DC44 Animal...
  • Cons: As we’ve mentioned, the whole shebang is battery powered. It means you’re free to tackle dust wherever it hides, and Dyson is very proud of its cutting-edge nickel cobalt manganese battery, which delivers powerful suction for up to 20 minutes between charges. In reality though, that’s just enough for some light cleaning. A room or two. Maybe a hallway if you’re lucky, but if you’ve got tons of rooms or need to give the skirting boards more than a weekly tickle, you’re...

Dyson DC44 Animal Review: The Best Kind Of Suck

17 October 2012
  • Excerpt: Sir James Dyson is a clever fellow. You could easily mistake his latest invention for a replica lightsabre prop, but it’s actually the future of the dustbuster. Is this the future our floors have been waiting for?

Hands-on: Dyson DC44 Animal review

Pocket Lint
17 October 2012
  • Excerpt: There's something about a Dyson that not many other vacuum cleaner brands can match. Not only does the British company's line-up look futuristic and modern, but its big boys' toys are also sufficient enough to get fellas to do housework. The Dyson DC44 Animal certainly falls into that category, perhaps more than most. It's cordless - operating on a rechargeable battery that promises up to 20 minutes of continuous run time.
